On Wednesday 22nd November, House Manager Ricky Pound was interviewed by Jason Rosam and Ali Ineson from Riverside Breakfast Radio in Battersea on the JMW Turner exhibition at The Twickenham Museum.
Ricky explained that the show was part of a series of events taking place this year to mark the 250th birthday of Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851), arguably Britain’s greatest painter (as borne out by his appearance on the latest £20.00 note).
Ricky spoke about JMW Turner’s connections to Brentford, Isleworth, Hammersmith and Twickenham, where Turner designed his own home in view of the River Thames.

The JMW Turner and South West London display runs at the Twickenham Museum until April 23rd, 2026. Entrance is free.
If you also in the area, Orleans House Gallery also has a new exhibition featuring three large original Turner oil paintings. Why not visit both proprties at the same time?
