Noted writer makes a short stay in Twickenham
Heny Fielding came to Twickenham in about 1747 just before his best known novel, Tom Jones, was published.
It seems that he would have liked to stay and settle in Twickenham but he moved away. However, his baby son William was probably born in Twickenham as he was baptised at St Mary’s Church Twickenham in 1748.
