Architectural fragments from the medieval Church of St Mary the Virgin (15th century or earlier).

The nave of the church collapsed on the night of April 9, 1713.

The new church was rebuilt in red stock bricks to designs of the architect John James (1673-1746) and work was complete by 1715.

Apart from the church’s Kentish ragstone tower, these may be the only surviving stones from the exterior of this medieval church.

The tower remains the oldest standing structure in Twickenham.

On display in the Vestibule  at the Twickenham Museum.
