This display highlights the close connection between the artist Joseph Mallord William Turner, the Thames and local places. In his lifetime Turner lived at Brentford, Isleworth, Hammersmith and Twickenham. Here the artist sketched, painted, rowed and fished. At Twickenham, the painter designed his own house in which father and son lived between 1813 and 1826.
